Meditation

Meditation is a radical and transformative act.
Real change is possible. However difficult and impossible things seem to be, never underestimate the power of finding somewhere that feels good to sit, preferably in nature, breathing slowly and softly into the belly. Take time to kindly turn the attention inwards, away from the thoughts and stories and apparent causes of disturbance, calming the nervous system, allowing the turbulent thoughts and emotions to settle and integrate. Then when you emerge you might find the apparent overwhelming problems and horrific things going on in the world are magically somehow manageable. There is more space to see these things in a bigger context.
Even to your surprise, pockets of previously blocked energies start to open up and move, numbness and pain turns into pleasure, inspiration and solutions start to trickle in. Life can be good and true. There is always a way out of the confusion and darkness. Find the golden thread out of the labyrinth with your own hands. Seek earnestly and diligently. It is there, and it is always available. These are not just pretty words. It is truth.

I have been meditating for 20 years, mostly within the Buddhist tradition (although I take a non sectarian approach) and it has honestly changed my life. I have been blessed to have many wonderful wise and kind teachers such as:
Kamalashila, Paramananda, Smritiratna, Roger Bischoff, Reginald Ray and many others. I teach meditation one-to-one and also lead groups.
